Mobile technology
penetration in certain sectors such as manufacturing
and healthcare has been constrained in the use
of OTA applications within the shop floor or hospitals.
This has lead to the development of standalone
applications which allow users to break the shackles
of fixed computers and wired networks in order
to move freely, access company applications and
data on demand.
Endeavour’s experience
with it’s customers in the manufacturing
and healthcare arena indicate that:
-
Mobile technologies are
already being used to enhance visibility and
execution, augmenting (and potentially displacing)
tethered devices and applications.
- There is a high enough level of success with
initial forays into mobile technologies to justify
additional investments.
-
Users are moving away from
text-only devices as they look for richer
presentation and collection of data. Devices
showing the largest increase in projected
future usage include enterprise mobile devices
and telematics, like from Motorola/Symbol
and Intermec, or in-vehicle devices that support
location-based services (LBS) applications.
- The next wave of investment will include mobile
applications for tracking costs, compliance,
and performance.
-
Excellent record of successfully
deploying full-fledged mobile communities,
wireless hubs and mobile-enabled social as
well as corporate networks.
-
Thorough support for networks
through implementation of scalable frameworks
capable of incorporating further technological
advances
-
Development and implementation
of value-added applications across all popular
platforms for enhancing user experience
