Symbian OS is
an operating system with associated libraries,
user interface frameworks and reference implementations
of common tools, produced by Symbian Ltd.. It
is a descendant of Psion's EPOC. Ericsson, Panasonic,
Nokia, Samsung, Siemens AG and Sony Ericsson currently
own by Symbian.
There
are a number of smartphone user interface
platforms based on Symbian OS, including
open platforms UIQ, Nokia's Series 60 and
Series 80, and closed platforms. Endeavour

Quality Control team for Symbian platform.
At
Endeavour, Symbian C++ programming is commonly
done with a commercial IDE. Previously,
Visual Studio was common, but for current
versions of Symbian OS, a Symbian-specific
version of CodeWarrior is favoured.
Once developed, our Symbian
OS applications are routed to our customers'
mobile phones. They are packaged in SIS files
that can be installed over-the-air or via
PC connect. Currently Endeavour develops applications
for platforms such as Series 40, Series 60,
Series 80, UIQ Series.
